Story
Freddie was evacuated in 2023 from the left bank of the Kupiansk community. In autumn 2023 he suffered multiple shrapnel wounds during shelling. XTRAVERSE volunteers took him to Kharkiv, to our vet clinic. He went through a long course of treatment, including an Ilizarov apparatus. He is waiting for a guardian and is ready to move to a new home: sadly, his real owner was killed.
2023When Freddie was brought from Kupiansk after being wounded, we looked for a great many specialists who could help him. His bones were shattered in several places, and not a single vet clinic or doctor would take on his recovery. Specialists from Kyiv looked at the injuries on video and said the surgery and recovery would cost around 70,000 hryvnias. The Aibolit clinic in Kharkiv also quoted sky-high sums, but said there were no specialists who could do the restoration right now.
Then our vet Anatolii from the Lapushka clinic took on an extremely complex operation: he performed it and carried out the rehabilitation — Freddie's bones were screwed back together. He recovered and survived. He was later handed over to his owner, and after the owner's death we took him back. 2023.
