I have been a volunteer with Edinburgh Direct Aid International for 26 years and have always found the work challenging but endlessly rewarding.
There are so many places in the world where people are suffering through conflict or natural disaster, and although it's only possible for a small organisation like EDA to reach a few of them, every small improvement to the life of someone in urgent need is worth that often difficult challenge.
I'm very proud to work closely alongside local organisations like X-traverse and others who carry out such great work.
